Ignorance

Nike Sportswear made some noise last month with the hiking boot inspired Air Royal Mid Quickstrike release. This month, the Air Royal Mid is featured in a more “high-fashion” look with heavy doses of black patent leather offset by a black suede toe area. Other features include a perforated Swoosh, light grey mid-sole, black laces and tonal tongue patch. The patent leather may be a bit much for some, but a solid release nonetheless.

Visionairy

BBC/Ice Cream has produced a couple of items for Japanese retailer United Arrows. The line-up includes a pair of denim and a t-shirt. The denim comes with the usual BBC/Ice Cream iconography and a large all-over print. The t-shirt features a graphic both on the front and back.

The Timberland Company partners with Grammy Award-winning musician Wyclef Jean on the Yele Haiti Earthkeepers collection. The collection consists of several different pairs of boots each made from recycled and organic materials. This new alliance is grounded in a shared commitment to the environment and a passion for improving communities throughout the world – $2 per pair will go to Wyclef’s Yele Haiti Foundation to support reforestation in Haiti. Launches late November. A good looking boot for a good cause.
